Tan Beng Swee Clock tower

I have choose this artwork as a subject matter for contemporary art. I was taken it in UMK open hall. It is an artwork was created by UMK students produced by using Illustrator and Photoshop.

What is special about this artwork??

The elements of art in this artwork attracted me to choose this artwork. This artwork expressing about a historical city in Malacca. The red color of the building looks very beautiful and realistic. In this artwork, it also express about a traditional transport in Malacca called trishaw. Trishaw is very popular among the tourist to round along the historic city.

History of Tan Beng Swee Clock tower

Located at Dutch Square in the heart of Malacca town. It was built by Tan Jiak Kim in 1886 in memory of his father Tan Beng Swee. It is the oldest clock tower in Malaysia and it is beside Christ Church Malacca.
